Medical Xpert Pro (hereafter MX Pro) is a natural evolution of DAO and DAO-2 programs developed by Dr. Ramon Simon-Lopez with the help of several colleagues, doctors and computer experts.

Currently MX Pro is developed by the organization Medical Xpert Systems SA, headquartered in Switzerland, where Dr. Ramon Simon-Lopez is the president.

MX Pro is based on Thomas Bayes theorem, often called “Bayes Law” or “Bayes Rule,” which shows the relationship between two conditional probabilities that are the reverse of each other.

This theory of probability could be simplified by saying: The most common is the most probable.

MX Pro is not a program that performs medical diagnosis, it is a tool that helps in the decision making diagnosis process of health professionals so they can have more and better information on this complicated and delicate process.

MX Pro shows various options to help the process of decision making of health professionals in the following processes:

  • Multiple Differential Diagnostic: MX Pro provides information for most of the symptoms and laboratory tests.. It includes clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, cytogenetic abnormalities, results of a flow cytometry, cytochemical, molecular biology, urine tests, LCR, etc. The MDD option of our software helps health professionals who can perform an efficient multiple differential diagnosis.

Also it included in the proposed differential the interferences caused by many drugs and their side effects as well as toxicity of drug abuse, poisoning, overdose, etc.

MX Pro shows two types of probabilities; one takes into account the frequency of the disease in the population, and can also be segmented by age, gender, ethnicity and location. The other only consider the probability based on the prevalence of the presence of symptoms or test results in different diseases. This has been developed in order to prevent rare diseases in our environment might overlook. A third type of probability is also shown, consisting in the combination of the first two probabilities.

  • Combined Multiple Differential Diagnostic: MX Pro provides information to health professionals so that they can perform the combined multiple differential diagnosis choosing between one and several symptoms or tests and combining the differential analysis of different symptoms or evidence. The choice in this case is CMDD. You can see in this case the differential diagnosis (list of diseases) using symptoms with the condition “and” or condition “or” for example:
    • Fever and leucocytosis
    • Fever or leucocytosis

MX Pro with the condition “or”, using complex algorithms, is able to check if from all the possible diseases the patient can have several diseases at a time.

Patients DB: MX Pro has a module of patients with clinical data, completely anonymously; patients on whom Medical Xpert Systems has been conducting clinical validation in hospitals in various parts of the world. Thanks to this MX Pro searches its database for all patients who had the same symptoms and the same test results. The search results will be the list of diseases that had previous patients with the same symptoms in percentage (%).
